Our Environment Matters

We make products to enhance experiences and adventures in the outdoors. As a business we have a lot of ways to influence and make sure we contribute as positively as possible to preservation and regeneration.

Setting aside our vision, passion, products and design, at the heart Iceworm MFG is a cut and sew business. If you do any kind of research on cut and sew businesses as a collective whole, it has significant impact on the environment both pre and post production. Materials. Manufacturing. Waste, both in production and post consumer.

Thankfully consumers are demanding more out of manufacturers and have the ultimate ability to vote with their dollars. Processes are improving. Energy is becoming more green. Products are being up cycled, re used and recycled.

IIceworm MFG is an incredibly small business at this time. We have an incredibly small product line. Yet, we have almost 50 different suppliers needed to source, manufacture, store, package and ship our products. It’s our duty to recognize that even though we are small, we have an impact.

Our work in this area is focused on the following areas and concepts.

Design - We design our products with the best products available. We use recycled or up cycled materials whenever possible. When those products are not available or do not meet our product specifications, we use the most durable product available to insure our products are used longer and do not end up in landfills.

Sourcing - In recent times, this has become one of the more challenging aspects with rising costs, shipping strategies changing and consumer expectations for air shipments. We continue to strive to consolidate our supplier base, order from sustainability focused suppliers, build larger orders from our suppliers.

Annual Assessment - For every bag and/or strap system we sell, we will be planting at least 1 tree here in our state of Minnesota. We will also be purchasing carbon offsets to offset our inbound and outbound shipping practices.
